Valerie completed her internship at Perspectives of Troy, and has been working as a licensed professional counselor there since 1994. In this capacity, she has counseled adults in areas of depression and anxiety, as well as transitions through trials of life. She has worked with many young adult women who, upon entering adulthood, struggle with uncertainties in light of the many changes and decisions they face in everyday life. She works with adults and couples on core conflicts and relationship issues.
In her leisure time, Valerie has had experience co-leading college/career/singles groups for many years. This involved teaching, mentoring, and organizing social activities for young adults.
In addition, Valerie is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, and was elected to the state convention of her denomination to be part of their Executive Board for three years.
