Biographical Information:

 

Malissa is the Director of Children Services as well as a therapist at Perspectives Counseling Centers.  She is at our Troy location Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  She also has her own private practice in Macomb County and is a wife and mother.  She graduated from Oakland University with her Master’s Degree in Counseling and is licensed as both a counselor and psychologist.

 

Malissa is a creative and gentle yet direct counselor.  She makes her clients feel at home by providing a nurturing, inviting environment and uses an eclectic approach that can be tailored to each individual she encounters.  She is even known to kick off her shoes and sit on the floor with her clients.  She feels passionate about “being present” with her clients and couldn’t imagine any other career that would be more rewarding.

 

Malissa has experience in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, agencies and community mental health.  Her valuable history in the field has made her knowledge base quite vast and this assists her in her understanding of each unique client.

 

In her free time Malissa loves decorating, gardening, reading, and playing outdoors with her sons, husband, and two puppies.
