Elaine Booth, LMSW, "Helping You Help Yourself"
Licensed Master Social Worker, State of Michigan
Credentialed Crisi and Trauma Response Therapist
Specializations in codependency, crisis and trauma response, and older adult issues. Skillfully addresses depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, panic disorders, anger, conflict management, self-esteem, grief and loss, and life development and transition issues. Elaine provides Christian/Biblical counseling as requested, marital therapy, and group therapy on codependency and anger.
Elaine takes a practical “how to” approach in helping clients reach their treatment goals. Practical tools and applications for real life situations help facilitate good outcomes. The fruit of this approach is best measured in the words of her own clients:
“You’ve helped me
tremendously get stronger, stand up for myself and set boundaries.” “I
appreciate all the help…you are quick to understand and evaluate a situation
and know what to say when I don’t.” “Thank
you for all your encouragement, support, and patience with me. I can take a
break from therapy because of all the wisdom, guidance, and resources you’ve
given me.” “I look forward to a life of strength and power. I will use what
I have learned for the rest of my life.” “I
want you to know how much you’ve helped me. I should have listened to you
sooner about recommendations that have been life changing.”
Elaine can be heard on Family Life Perspectives radio program on WMUZ (103.5 FM.) She teaches Continuing Education Courses through Perspectives Professional Development Institute, contributes to the Perspectives of Troy newsletter, and is part of the Speaker’s Bureau.
Elaine has served as an in-patient and out-patient psychotherapist at a local hospital. She was the Director of Social Services at both a sub-acute transition care facility, and a long-term skilled nursing facility, as well as the Executive Directory of a local crisis pregnancy center.
Ms. Booth is a member of a local Christian church, the
