Biographical Information:

 

Julie received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Michigan State University and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan.  She has over ten years experience in working with the above issues.  Julie has had extensive experience working with adolescents and their families, who are dealing with severe depression and mood disorders.  She has also been through intensive training for self-injury and eating disorders.  Julie uses a supportive, cognitive-behavioral approach in therapy and is very passionate about working with people.

 

Julie has experience working with psychiatric hospitals, courts and schools.  She has worked for and volunteered for many community programs, including the Judson Center, Grandparents as Parents, Special Olympics, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the Native American Education Program, Community Mental Health, and the University Psychiatric Center. She has also developed a support group for teens dealing with symptoms of Bipolar Disorder.
