Maria received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Michigan and her Master of Social Work from Wayne State University. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).


Prior to joining the Perspectives of Troy team, Maria provided individual, family and group therapy to clients of all ages for 11 years. She developed a children's grief support group model as well as facilitated a children's grief support group and an adult grief support group. She presented to various schools' staff and students regarding grief and loss and offered trauma debriefing in the schools and workplace. In addition, Maria also spent three years providing infant mental health services in clients' homes and at area hospitals.


Maria is passionate about working with children. She uses art and play to assit them in expressing themselves when words are not enough.


During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband have been blessed with two children and their pet Pekingese, Zion. Maria attends Bible study regularly and is a member of a praise band.
