Biographical Information

Katie earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Oakland University in 1992. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She formerly worked as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and has fluency in American Sign Language. She has an extensive background in the Love and Logic Parenting philosophy. Katie is highly effective in working with young people as well as adults. Her areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, women’s emotional health, effective communication skills, family therapy, trauma and grief, and child and adolescent behavior issues. Katie became a therapist to help people navigate their complex worlds in order to live a healthier, happier life. Through her strength-based, holistic approach, she strives to help individuals achieve the goals they have in mind for themselves. Katie feels honored to have the opportunity to engage with people in the process of personal growth and positive change.
