Biographical Information
Brian graduated from Eastern Michigan University with his Masters In Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor, as well as a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug counselor (CAADC), and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Brian has worked in a variety of clinical settings, which include: residential detox and substance use disorder inpatient treatment, family reunification and relationship building, university campus, and community mental health. The approach Brian has for counseling is client-centered and insight-oriented, where a person can work on goals in a safe, supportive, judgement-free, and empowering environment. Helping people find, and confidently embody, their strengths is what one can expect when working with Brian, whether it be reducing distressing symptoms, developing skills, processing experiences, or making changes to ways a person thinks, feels, or behaves. Some of the areas of additional experience, education, and training Brian has include; depression, anxiety, guilt and shame, trauma, substance use and addiction, relationships and couples issues, grief and loss, adjusting to new situations, as well as anger management.
In addition to counseling, Brian enjoys reading, meditating, working out, traveling, and listening to music which all inform his holistic approach to his work.
